Contact me with your requirements but to give you some ideas here are a variety of my most popular excursions:-

“An Introduction to Fly Fishing”

Perfect for anyone who wishes to be taught the gentle art of fly casting. The course is a 4 hour session which will cover all aspects of the casting technique and will include guidance on the best rods ,associated equipment, fishery  practice and etiquette.

We will undertake our course in the wonderful location of the Storr Lochs or similar depending on weather conditions.Fishing will be from the bank of the loch as boat fishing with fly rods is not recommended, on safety grounds, for the novice(s).

Within the 4 hour period there will be ample opportunity to test your newly acquired skills in trying to catch the hard fighting wild brown trout which abound in these lochs. I will obtain permits to fish upon your behalf and will supply all the necessary equipment of fly rod, reel, line, and associated tackle.

My charges , to include all the above, are from £60 depending on the size of the party.

“A days boat Trout fishing on the Storr Lochs”

This is for the more experienced angler ( At least to the extent that you have participated in my “Introduction to Fly Casting” course .

We go out in a boat for a day of fishing these wonderful lochs in the shadow of the Trotternish Ridge. The package includes permits, the hire of all necessary tackle, and the provision of a boat with outboard motor, recommended on these lochs unless you are an Olympic rower.

During the day we will cover, weather permitting, all the locally favourate drifts and a few less fished productive corners as well. The trout average around the 1lb mark but every year 3 lb plus specimens are caught with the occassional fish to 5lbs.

We will have a lunch break around mid day where you can go ashore and stretch your legs, enjoy the scenery of the Trotternish Ridge and Old Man of Storr, and have a ” Strupag” ( Tea Break) . The emphasis is on you enjoying a relaxing and  productive fly fishing day in one of Scotland’s most scenic locations. The fishing session is normally from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

My charges, to include all the above, are from £120.

“A days walking and fishing the Hill Lochs of North Skye”

This is slightly different and is designed for the more adventurous. Our day will take us on foot, a degree of fitness is required, into the hill lochs of North Skye. This is only available as a “Day Option” given the time to access the locations. It is a true “Adventure on Skye with a fishing rod” and our quarry is the wild and wary native brown trout. Whether we catch them or not you will be in awe of the scenery and it’s tranquility. It is a true day  “off the beaten track” and if you are interested I will be happy to share my knowledge of the history and culture of the landscape as we pass through.

The cost is from £120 for the day and that includes any necessary tackle and our fishing permits.

“Ghillied Salmon and Sea Trout Fishing” .

All the Skye Rivers are classified, in angling terms, as ”spate rivers”. This means that they  fish at their best when we have recently had rain and the salmon start to ascend the streams from the sealochs. In these conditions sport can be fast and furious. I have often had clients out, in the right conditions, catching two or three salmon each in their session. As such and to get the best chance of a fish you may wish to employ the services of a local expert as salmon, when running a river , generation after generation, tend to follow a similar course of ascent throughout the river system. Indeed it is well known that they will spawn as adults in the same area as they themselves were born. A local ghillie expert therefore can enhance your chances of success given his intimate knowledge of the river.

Because the rivers are so dependent on water levels I recommend an initial half day excursion and offer a ghillied outing, either 9am/1pm or 1pm to 5pm. It may be possible to extend the session , if the fish are biting, on the day.

The cost for the half day excursion, to include all necessary tackle but excluding permits, is from £60 depending on the size of the party.

I just want to thank you for allowing us to spend the day with you. We all had such a good time and it helped that my father and I both landed fish. We will have so many memories to reflect on in the years ahead. Thank you again.
